TOKYO, June 19, 2025 - Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724) will debut its innovative Direct to Shape Printing System at Automatica 2025 in Munich, Germany (June 24-27). This marks the solution's first international exhibition ahead of global commercialization.
The system combines Epson's ultra-compact S800 PrecisionCore printheads (600 × 600 dpi) with 6-axis industrial robots, enabling high-precision printing on complex 3D surfaces like curved grooves. Independent lifting mechanisms allow multi-angle printing while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
Key advantages include
Sustainable production: On-demand ink deposition reduces material waste
Cost efficiency: Eliminates need for plates/special materials
Versatile applications: From automotive parts to sports equipment and functional printing (e.g., conductive ink sensors)
Epson will offer complete solutions including hardware, inks, and technical support. A permanent demo system will be installed at Epson Deutschland GmbH from July 2025 to facilitate customer evaluations.
As part of its 2050 sustainability vision, Epson continues to drive innovations that combine precision engineering with environmental responsibility.
